Penney life...

Life is good. I can't believe how fast the time is going by these days. It is already the middle of March! Life with my boys is busy and fun. The boys love school and have fun with each other when school gets out.

A daily thing now that the weather has warmed up a bit. They get the hose out and make mud...yes I allow this : )

Making wonderful surprises for mommy...

They rush into the house to tell me they made me a special pie and to come out and take a picture of it. So I get the camera and come out to the best pie ever!!

Not long after that Trent rushes in and yells, "Davis threw mud at my face!!" I turn and burst into laughter...it really couldn't be helped. I don't know if that was very bad on my part...oh well they will survive. I called Davis in and made them take a picture together.

At least Trent acted cool about it. I snapped the picture and then he started whining about the dirt stinging. So I told him to go wash it off. A minute later I asked if he would like help, "No, I got this." Was his reply.

Then I heard Davis, "Mommy I threw dirt on me!" I was like oh please no! but then all I could do was smile and take a picture of him and told him gently to not do that anymore. He giggled and ran off...oh dear what have I started??

Then few days later Davis' Preschool class went to the zoo. Davis was paired with his favorite BEST buddy Brayden. I had to follow these two around and meet back at the bus later. We had a blast!

These two were impossible to get any good pictures of. They would not hold still! Every few seconds they would pause and I would have that time to snap a picture...so forgive the somewhat lame photos...I tried!

They loved the petting zoo. It was feeding time so the goats held still for them.

This pretty much sums up my nearly 2 hours with these two! They are so goofy! They were being wild animals at the zoo. I told them to make a scary face....this is what I got.

They went from that to this...so sweet!! They loved the baby elephant.

They liked the Giraffe...for a minute...and then it was on to the next place. We saw almost every animal at the rate they went. It was so fun!

We got to see the seals...they LOVED to watch them.

Then we had only a few minutes until we had to meet at the bus so I let them play and then we rushed back to meet for snack...

After snack time it was back on the bus. We had a fun and busy morning. These two had SO much energy! Davis was so happy...but as soon as we pulled up to the school and he found out he did not have class that day he was immediately devastated and insisted that all of his friends were going to have a fun time at his school and he wasn't. Silly boy!! I had to stand there and show him that all of his friends were leaving and getting in their cars and going home as well. Other than that....it was GREAT morning. Tyler was awesome and took Trent and Ryan on a few adventures while Davis and I were gone. Trent was upset that Davis got to go to the zoo AND ride a bus! So daddy took him to Poppy's work and showed him 'the dome' and then went to the park. He is such a good daddy! Life is wonderful : )

Wow...it's been a while : )

So much has happened since I have last posted...3 moths ago! Ha!

First there was Halloween...and I could not post all of the pictures...that would take too long : )
The boys were super heros...

Thanksgiving day was Davis' official Birthday...so we had to wait until the day after Thanksgiving to celebrate...there was NO way I could do everything on the same day...so we celebrated the next day!

He enjoyed opening his presents...not as much as Trent did though...

Davis loved all of his gifts...especially his knight costume : )

Yes We did Birthday doughnuts and he LOVED them! Yes that is a candle... a tea light candle...he didn't seem to notice though : )

Then we had the first crazy wind storm which blew everyones leaves into our yard...Such luck we have!

Then of course Christmas time!! My boys love going to see the Christmas lights
at Candy Cane Lane...SO much fun!

It was cold but they didn't mind! My arms were so sore after pulling them around for almost an hour..and then on top of carrying Ryan too because he did not want to be in the wagon anymore..

Then we spent the day prior to Christmas Eve in Solvang...we stayed at a little Inn and had a blast! We swam in the heated pool and enjoyed the spa of course.

I think that Solvang is one of the cutest little towns that I have ever been to. SO much fun and so much to look at and do. I had a blast window shopping while Tyler watched the boys...he's so good!

Then we spent Christmas Eve in Santa Barbara on the beach...it was so weird to be on the beach the day before Christmas. The kids had SOOO much fun!

Then of course Christmas day! The boys woke up on Sunday morning and luckily we did not have church until 1:30...so we had plenty of time and it was very nice. Big Christmas breakfast a lot of laughter and fun. Sharing the story about Jesus...I love Christmas : )

Late Christmas day we went over to Memow and Poppy's house...or as Ryan likes to say, "Memow and Hoppies!!" We had fun and grandma and grandpa sure spoiled them rotten!

Davis LOVED his super Davis cape that grandma made him!

Trent loved his cool new Thor. Especially after he saw the movie later that week he would not let go of that toy. He loves it.

We are always busy but we know how to have some fun! The boys just keep getting bigger and bigger! I can't believe how fast the time is just slipping away. So grateful for my children and my husband...I feel so blessed sometimes...even amongst the caos : )

Ryan turns 2!

Yes it has been a LONG time and no...these pictures are not in order...haha oh well! So Ryan turned two yesterday and it was kind of a crazy day because it was also Trent and Davis' school Halloween parties so I had to get them all ready and run back and forth from school. Thank goodness Ryan is only 2...he doesn't even really know what a Birthday is and spent half of the day doing errands and dealing with a stressed mommy. Well when the boys got home from school in the late afternoon I had to get Tyler from school, thank goodness my sister Stephanie was at my house and was able to bathe and wash my boys while I ran out to get Tyler. Rushed home, got them dressed and headed to John's Incredible Pizza. I laughed at myself for even making cupcakes...who's going to eat them when they have a ton of things to eat? Oh well...lesson learned.

This was after the party. They were not excited about going home at all..lol the picture says otherwise but they were cooperative about taking pictures...

Yay Daddy is with us! He has been SO busy with work and school, poor guy!

Ryan loves his Poppy

He is always tickling and always making Ryan smile : )

This was the best picture that I could get of the 3 of them. They were all over the place!

Ryan was excited to open his gifts...

Oh what did Memow get you?!

This is pretty much what he did the rest of the time after he ate. He played trucks with his cousin Nate...

Most of the time they fight...but they do love each other : )

Yay more presents!

Seriously the BEST present ever! Memow got him a whole bunch trucks that light up and make sounds. He LOVES them!

Of course the boys do too : )

This is one of his first presents opened...he didn't really know what to do...so Davis helped : )

It was a lot of fun and a completely crazy day...the rest of his Birthdays will probably be like this...since it falls a few days short of Halloween...so I will be better prepared next year and make sure that things wont be SO last minute. The boys had fun playing in the arcade and running around. Trent got lost for the first time...he was missing for 2 minutes and I was calling his name and looking everywhere...then I got paged to guest services...low and behold Trent was sitting there all red and puffy eyed with a HUGE balloon! He stayed close to me after that. It was a fun night : ) Now time to get ready for Halloween!!! Haha I love it!

Family Date night....

Well since it was a last minute thing and it isn't easy to find a babysitter on a Friday night we went on a date with our boys. It was a lot of fun! We grabbed some fast food and drove over to one of the boys favorite parks...and since it was a Friday night and most people are either at the Farmers Market or have hired babysitters the usually crowded park was practically empty...it was SO nice!

Tyler and I sat and ate our food...the kids were not interested in eating since we had just gotten to the park. It was very nice to just sit there in peace while the kids ran wild.

But of course since Ryan was just too cute I started taking pictures of him....

This boy just loves the swing!

He started getting crazy and I kept getting nervous that he was going to fall off...but he didn't fall he held on tight!

This is one of Davis' favorite things to do at this park. It is either the rock climbing wall or the spiderweb...because as he puts it he is a very fast spider climbing up high on his web.

He cracks me up with the things that he says. He climbs up to the top and then says in his little scared voice..."Um mommy I am not a spider but I am just a little kid and this web is too high for me and so I need to get down from here....

He was getting nervous because Ryan likes to stand at the bottom...and since he cannot climb just yet he shakes it and Davis gets freaked out...kind of funny : )

Here is my other spider....

Finally Davis was hungry! He makes me laugh : )

Ryan was hungry too...he always likes to do what his brothers do....

Then we walked through the botanical gardens...they forgot to lock the gate so we got lucky and got to walk about and enjoy the beautiful flowers and trees...

He loves his Da Da : )

It was a fun night and even though we didn't get an evening alone it was actually quite enjoyable having date night at the park. Maybe next time we will just pack a picnic and enjoy another fun family date night : )
